Meesho Limited narrowed its Q2 FY27 net loss by about 68% year over year to ₹132 crore as orders rose, while a shifted festive sale shaped comparisons of demand.

The company reported a loss of ₹411 crore in the year-ago quarter, using rounded figures. Placed orders reached 819 million, up 17% year over year. Marketplace revenue from operations advanced 34% to ₹4,120 crore, while quarterly net merchandise value (NMV) was ₹12,911 crore, a 23% year-over-year increase.

Annual transacting users reached 284 million, 21% more than a year earlier. Purchase frequency averaged 10.4 transactions per user annually, up 7% year over year. First-time buyers were 16% more numerous than in the previous quarter. The results add customer and operating details to EconoTimes’ earlier report on Meesho’s quarterly loss and user base.

Meesho linked its operating performance to logistics efficiencies and monetization. In Q2, contribution margin represented 6% of NMV, compared with 4.6% in the prior quarter. The company said deliveries took about 15% less time than a year earlier, citing denser network coverage, routing changes, partner allocation and enhancements to Geo-India.

The sale’s timing changed the basis for comparing festive activity. Meesho said its Mega Blockbuster Sale shifted from Q2 last year to Q3 this year. It compared NMV over the 90 days before Dussehra in each year and reported a 33% year-over-year increase for that festive-aligned period. That measure covers a different window from the 23% rise in quarterly NMV.

Meesho reported quarterly free cash flow of ₹345 crore, compared with an outflow of ₹226 crore in the preceding quarter. It said seasonal working-capital benefits partly supported the result. The company had ₹7,048 crore in cash as of Sept. 30 and said it plans to reinvest part of its efficiency gains in consumer and seller experiences.

Vidit Aatrey, Meesho’s chairman, managing director and chief executive, said, “More consumers are shopping on Meesho, and they are shopping more frequently.”
