An Oct. 19 snapshot showed a daily rise in the memecoin market even as weekly returns for three large tokens diverged, underscoring that the figures describe different trading periods.
The price changes were recorded around 7:55 p.m. ET (23:55 UTC). Pepe (PEPE) gained 3.8% over the seven days ending at that time. Dogecoin (DOGE) fell 4.9%, while Shiba Inu (SHIB) lost 4.3% over the same period.
The same snapshot valued the overall memecoin market at $29.08 billion, a 0.6% gain against its reading 24 hours earlier. The category figure captures one day of trading; the individual token figures cover seven days. The valuation depends on token prices and circulating supply, so its rise does not establish how much investors put into memecoins.
Separately, an Oct. 16 market-cap reading for Shiba Inu put SHIB at $3.02 billion, compared with $3.49 billion on Oct. 5.
