Meshy introduced Meshy Edit Friday, Oct. 16, a prompt-based tool for revising chosen parts of a 3D model, aimed at creators who need to adjust one area without recreating an entire asset.

Registered users can mark an area with Lasso and refine its boundary with Brush, then enter an instruction and optionally attach up to five reference images. If no area is marked, Meshy says the prompt applies across the model. The tool changes geometry rather than color, according to the company's user guide.

Meshy says an edit usually takes about one minute. The revised asset is saved as a separate model, leaving the original available, and the company says geometry outside the selected area is preserved. Users can make further changes to the new model or export it for use in 3D-print preparation software.

Each run costs 20 credits. The feature supports high-poly models created with Meshy 6 or Meshy 7.1. Meshy's launch announcement says externally uploaded models, low-poly models and Ultra 4K models are not supported.

Meshy says it designed the tool for people creating figures, miniatures, toys and other merchandise for 3D printing, as well as game developers and character artists making alternate character assets. The company describes the previous options as starting over with a new model or changing the mesh manually in software such as Blender.

Meshy's Help Center says an API for the feature is not yet available. It estimates availability in early December 2026.
