Meta Platforms shares rose 2.5% in Wednesday trading ahead of the company’s third-quarter earnings release, with user response to its Muse AI agent and the scale of AI spending among the questions raised by CNBC’s Investing Club.
The club said it was watching how users respond to Muse, which Meta launched the previous month. It also pointed to the company’s capital-expenditure outlook. Jeff, cited in the report, raised the possibility that Meta might issue shares to support its AI expansion; the report framed this as a question, not an announced financing plan.
Meta introduced Muse as a personal AI agent with free and subscription options, according to EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of the product and the stock’s losing streak. Wednesday’s gain followed five consecutive sessions of lower closes through Oct. 20.
Meta had scheduled its third-quarter results for release after U.S. markets closed Oct. 21, followed by an earnings call at 4:30 p.m. ET, according to EconoTimes’ earlier earnings coverage.
