Metabolize said it completed a $3.2 million seed financing for metabolic-health products, including NATLEAN, a supplement that the company says has not been tested in human clinical trials.

In an announcement dated Oct. 15, the company said Astanor led the round, with Maia Ventures, LongGame Venture and SOSV participating. It did not disclose a valuation, ownership split or other financing terms.

Metabolize says it will use the proceeds to bring its Precision Metabolite™ Technology closer to market and advance product development, validation and manufacturing. The company did not provide a spending breakdown or specify how much is earmarked for any one product or activity.

NATLEAN is the company’s first consumer product and is aimed at people coming off GLP-1 therapies, according to Metabolize. It contains N-acetyltaurine and taurine. The company says the supplement is intended to help users manage appetite and weight over time; those are stated aims, not demonstrated effects for NATLEAN.

A 2024 Nature study co-authored by Jonathan Z. Long, an associate professor of pathology at Stanford Medicine, reported that obese mice given N-acetyltaurine ate less and lost weight. The experiments examined the compound, not NATLEAN’s full formulation, so they provide preclinical evidence about an ingredient rather than results for the finished supplement.

Metabolize’s FAQ says NATLEAN has not been tested in human clinical trials and describes a randomized study with 156 participants as planned after funding. The company’s website lists prices of $207 billed every 90 days, $89 for a monthly option and $129 for a one-time purchase. Whether those listings are live sales, preorders or staged offers is unverified, as is fulfillment status.

The company was founded in 2024 by Morris Laster, its founder and CEO, and co-founder Gideon Meir. Metabolize says it holds an exclusive license to Stanford-originated intellectual property. Christina Ulardic, a partner at Astanor, said the firm sees “a growing need for science-backed solutions that complement existing approaches.”

Metabolize expects NATLEAN to launch in January 2027.
