Metaplanet Inc. used ¥25.27 billion of its buyback authorization in October to repurchase 96.45 million shares, with the Japanese Bitcoin (BTC) treasury company’s program remaining open through 2027.

The 96,447,400 common shares bought between Oct. 14 and Oct. 31 cost ¥25,269,031,500 in all.

The board’s Oct. 13 resolution set a ¥60 billion spending ceiling and permitted up to 200 million shares to be repurchased. That limit equaled 14.7% of common shares issued, excluding treasury stock, on Sept. 30; the authority ends Oct. 13, 2027.

Japan Exchange Group data list an Oct. 14 purchase of 73,981,400 shares at ¥261 per share.

In a voting-rights calculation dated Oct. 16, Capital Research and Management Company held 11.11% of Metaplanet’s voting rights after votes tied to the Oct. 14 shares were excluded, the company’s Oct. 23 disclosure said. The percentage was above Metaplanet’s 10% major-shareholder threshold. The company said it had not verified the reported holdings itself.
