Michigan’s early-vote total reached 1.2 million as Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed sought to increase turnout among Democrats before the Nov. 3 election, CBS News reported.

The Michigan Department of State’s general-election list names El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers in the contest for the state’s open U.S. Senate seat. Early in-person voting began Saturday, Oct. 24, and is scheduled to continue through Sunday, Nov. 1, the department said. A 2022 state constitutional amendment requires at least nine days of early in-person voting.

EconoTimes previously covered Michigan voters’ views of the Senate candidates. Michigan voters will decide the race Tuesday, Nov. 3.
