Two people were injured and three residential buildings and seven vehicles damaged after debris from intercepted missiles fell in southern Saudi Arabia, the kingdom’s Civil Defense said Sunday, Oct. 25.
The injured were a Saudi citizen and a resident of Asian nationality, according to the statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency. Civil Defense did not describe their conditions or specify which missile’s debris fell in each location.
The agency said both ballistic missiles were intercepted and destroyed. It blamed Yemen’s Houthi militia for launching them, with debris falling in Khamis Mushait and Ahad Rafidah.
In separate announcements Sunday, the Saudi-led coalition said it had intercepted 10 ballistic missiles aimed at the kingdom’s southern region, another ballistic missile aimed at Riyadh and a cruise missile aimed at Khamis Mushait. The releases did not say whether any of those interceptions involved the missiles linked to the injuries.
Civil Defense reported a separate incident in Riyadh on Oct. 13, when debris from two intercepted cruise missiles injured four people and caused limited damage at 15 homes.
