Moderna shares fell 17.57% on Oct. 22, leaving the biotech company’s stock up 587.11% year to date through that close, after a prior-close screen had ranked it first among U.S.-listed stocks.

Moderna closed at $202.63, compared with $245.81 on Oct. 21. The year-to-date calculation uses the company’s Dec. 31, 2025, closing price of $29.49, recorded in its proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Yahoo Finance historical prices show the Oct. 22 close.

ETMarkets published its ranking on Oct. 22 using prices through the previous U.S. close. The screen measured price returns for U.S.-listed companies with market capitalizations above $5 billion and excluded American depositary receipts. It put Moderna’s gain at 733.54% through Oct. 21, SanDisk’s at 480.60% and Iovance Biotherapeutics’ at 435.53%.

The rest of the top 10 were Twist Bioscience at 370.15%, 10x Genomics at 363.46%, ImmunityBio at 336.36%, MaxLinear at 334.83%, Erasca at 289.52%, Dell Technologies at 285.99% and Corcept Therapeutics at 234.14%, ETMarkets reported. The 733.54% figure uses the Oct. 21 close; the 587.11% calculation includes the following session. Seven companies on the list were in health care and three in technology.

Moderna and Merck said in August that interim results from their Phase 3 INTerpath-001 study showed better recurrence-free and distant metastasis-free survival among patients given intismeran autogene with Keytruda than among those given Keytruda alone. Participants had completely resected stage IIB-IV melanoma. The trial will continue to assess overall survival.

The Associated Press reported that the companies made the full trial results public Thursday after some data surfaced. The findings are scheduled for presentation at a meeting in Madrid on Saturday, Oct. 24, AP reported.
