NEW YORK, April 03, 2018 -- Cadence13, the leader in premium, on-demand audio entertainment, today announced a partnership with CJ McCollum, NBA star shooting guard for the Portland Trail Blazers, active journalist, and mentor to students and the community through CJ’s Press Pass and the CJ McCollum Dream Center. The new weekly podcast, Pull Up with CJ McCollum, hosted by McCollum, offers a unique player’s point of view on the storylines around the NBA, with candid revelations behind the scenes and off of the court from one of the most dynamic stars in the league. The first episode will be available on Wednesday, April 4 through Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify, iHeart, Stitcher, TuneIn and more. Listeners can subscribe and listen to a show trailer here.
“I truly believe that the stories around the game are what make basketball so interesting. I’m excited to partner with Cadence13 to bring the Pull Up with CJ McCollum podcast to life and give fans an inside perspective of what is happening in the league on and off the court,” said CJ McCollum.
“CJ is one of those unique professional athletes who is not only ambitious about jumping into the media game, but can back it up with star play similar to how he attacks the court,” said Chris Corcoran, Chief Content Officer of Cadence13. “He is already an NBA star leading one of the best backcourts in the game, and I can’t wait to showcase that CJ is also going to be a star off of the court with a podcast that every NBA fan will crave every week.”
Entercom Communications, owner and operator of the leading sports radio stations in the U.S., will deliver national promotion for the podcast series throughout the country to drive awareness.
McCollum played college basketball for the Lehigh Mountain Hawks, becoming the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Player of the Year in 2010 and 2012, the same year he led the team with 30 points to one of the greatest upsets in the history of March Madness as his 15-seed Lehigh team took out number two seed Duke. He graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and was selected by Portland as the 10th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. Now in his fifth season with the Blazers, he averages close to 22 points per game and is one of the leading guards in the league getting ready his fifth in a row playoff appearance. Off the court, he appears frequently on ESPN’s The Jump and SportsNation and writes for publications like Sports Illustrated and The Player’s Tribune.
