It's no secret that the upcoming “NCIS” season 16 has already shed a lot of the original cast members from the roster for multiple reasons. While the series is still going strong, being one of the most watched shows on television, the fact that only a handful of the original cast is part of the show is making fans ask for more characters that they can continue to root for.
“NCIS” season 16 is already bringing Diona Reasonover's Kasie Hines as a regular cast member when the show comes back this fall. But even when the NCIS team gets a new member to fill in the forensic scientist role, there is always the possibility that new and recurring characters will get bumped up to full-time cast members as season 16 moves through its plot.
There is also the state of the plot that the “NCIS” season 15 finale has left behind that fans can consider. The fate of NCIS Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) is still up in the air. While Vance is also a long-running beloved character, there is a possibility that getting him back from Hakim Bawali's (Wesam Keesh) clutches is going to be a tough job even for the NCIS team. People may seriously die this season, especially with Jack Sloane (Maria Bello) so hellbent on revenge over Bawali's transgressions against her and her team back in the war.
Who better to provide back up to the team than someone who is already close to the family. Senior Special Agent Tim McGee's (Sean Murry) wife, Delilah Fielding Mcgee, played by Margo Harshman, may be the perfect new addition to the NCIS team considering that the current threat posed by Bawali goes beyond domestic jurisdiction. As a Department of Defense Analyst, Delilah can be a sort of liaison between the NCIS team and other branches of the military and intelligence institutions that the NCIS team will have to leverage to catch Bawali and save Director Vance in the nick of time.
While there has yet to be an official announcement that Harshman will be coming back in “NCIS” season 16, fans can hope that Delilah McGee can come back when the show returns to air its premiere episode on Sept. 25
