Nigeria’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) plans a three-part program in Abuja on Monday, commissioning its recently acquired national secretariat, inaugurating its National Campaign Council and presenting candidates with Certificates of Return ahead of the 2027 election.
National Publicity Secretary Osa Director, Esq., announced the schedule in a statement issued Sunday. The National Executive Committee will meet at 5 a.m. ET (09:00 UTC) at the JD Vance Centre, opposite A-Class Park on Kashim Ibrahim Way in Maitama, Abuja. Attendance at the meeting is by invitation and limited to committee members.
The party will commission its secretariat in Jabi at 9 a.m. ET (13:00 UTC). The council inauguration is set for noon ET (16:00 UTC), with candidate certificate presentations and a dinner to follow. Invitations are limited to National Working Committee members, candidates for governor and the National Assembly, and the NDC’s presidential ticket.
The NDC has said the council will cover its presidential, National Assembly, governorship and state House of Assembly campaigns. The party had earlier moved the council inauguration from Oct. 20 to Oct. 26, citing an overseas engagement on presidential candidate Peter Obi’s schedule.
