Adidas Originals is debuting its own non-fungible token or NFT collection after recently teaming up with at least three popular brands in the world of NFT, and these are PUNKS Comics, GMoney, and the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
Adidas Originals has signed deals with the mentioned popular names in the NFT sphere to achieve its goal of advancing in the metaverse business. The sneaker and sports apparel maker announced this week that it will be debuting its NFT collection titled “Into the Metaverse.”
According to CoinTelegraph, the details about Adidas Originals’ NFT launch are still very limited at this time but it was revealed the upcoming NFT would also serve as an access token where holders will be able to see exclusive merchandise that will be released in the future. Owners will also be one of the first few to check out both physical and digital products and services.
The sale of Adidas Originals’ NFT collection will officially start on Friday, Dec. 17. The price for each digital asset that is part of the collection will be sold at 0.2 Ethreum (ETH) which is equivalent to around $810. Interested buyers can visit Adidas’ website to have the chance to own one of the NFTs on sale.
“They have been very thoughtful and deliberate on their entrance into the space. I think they will help empower communities and creators by building together,” an influencer at GMoney told CoinTelegraph when asked about any expectation for the launch of Adidas Originals’ NFT collection.
He added, “I have been speaking to them since April, helping to guide them in their strategy, offering feedback on ideas, to make sure that they enter the space in a truly authentic manner. And I think we are seeing that play out now, as Adidas has had the most authentic entry into the space so far.”
