With control of Congress at stake in the Nov. 3 U.S. midterm election, NPR has collected member-station election information, including resources on local races and ballot questions that may accompany federal contests.

USAGov says all 435 seats in the U.S. House and one-third of the Senate are up for election. Midterms occur halfway between presidential elections, and congressional races determine party control of both chambers for the next two years.

NPR published its page Oct. 30 and grouped links to station election material by state. The listings include statewide resources, coverage of local races and ballot issues, NPR says. The page brings together information for readers seeking coverage of contests beyond Congress, though the state and local races on a ballot depend on the jurisdiction.

North Carolina illustrates the range of contests outside federal races. The North Carolina State Board of Elections lists federal and state contests, local judges, district attorneys and county offices. Municipal elections are also held in some jurisdictions, the board says. It lists the state’s general election for Tuesday, Nov. 3.

One linked resource, WFAE’s 2026 voter guide, covers voting by mail and in person and includes information about local candidates’ positions. Its page also provides candidate and local-election information. The guide is one example of the practical information available through the member-station links.

Voting dates and procedures vary, USAGov says. The federal government directs voters to state or local election offices for help with registration, voting and election results. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
