NVIDIA’s board has launched an investigation after reports alleged CEO Jensen Huang was targeted by foreign intelligence, saying it sees no basis to believe U.S. national security or NVIDIA secrets were compromised.
The board assigned the investigation to an independent-director committee, supported by independent outside counsel. The review will consider the full set of available information.
The directors described U.S. national and economic security as priorities, saying they are central to NVIDIA’s interests and those of its shareholders. Huang has endorsed the review and agreed to cooperate, the board said. Directors also expressed confidence in Huang and his leadership team. The board intends to issue further updates as appropriate.
Separately, CNBC reported that three Republican House committee chairs requested a closed-door briefing with Huang for Nov. 18. The requested session would take place a day after NVIDIA’s third-quarter results call, scheduled for Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT). EconoTimes previously covered the request for the private briefing.
