Nigeria’s All Progressives Congress (APC) urged voters to reject the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2027 over alleged wage arrears, while Vanguard and Tribune reported the ADC rejected the claim and demanded proof.

In a statement dated Oct. 26 and posted on Nigeria’s State House website, APC Presidential Campaign Council spokesman Dele Alake said the ADC’s National Working Committee had left party employees unpaid for more than 12 months. He identified the committee’s leaders as chairman David Mark and secretary Rauf Aregbesola. The council urged voters to reject the ADC, Atiku Abubakar—described in the statement as the party’s presidential candidate—and other ADC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Alake also alleged that employees at Gotel Communication and other businesses linked to Abubakar had gone months without pay, and that some had protested over wages and benefits. In a separate accusation, he said Aregbesola’s former Osun State administration introduced quarter-salary payments and, at times, half-salary payments, while pensioners went unpaid for more than four years.

ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi rejected the claim and challenged the APC to provide evidence, Vanguard and Tribune reported Oct. 26. Abdullahi told Vanguard, “If the APC has any credible evidence to support its claims, it should produce it.”
