Oyo State Gov. Seyi Makinde plans to unveil a manifesto for his 2027 presidential bid on Nov. 4, TheCable and New Telegraph reported, ahead of Nigeria’s January 2027 election.
The two outlets said Makinde announced the date at an Allied Peoples Movement (APM) town hall in Enugu on Oct. 29. They reported that campaign meetings had taken place across the country’s six geopolitical zones and that the manifesto would address issues raised during those discussions.
Premium Times separately reported that a notice from the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation named Makinde and his running mate as presenters at an Abuja event. The outlet said the notice listed Congress Hall at Transcorp Hotels and Suites as the venue and gave the document’s title as Manifesto and Policy Document (2027–2031).
The campaign website already links to a PDF titled Seyi Makinde’s Reset Agenda. It groups proposals under the economy, security, education and socio-political governance. The available sources do not establish whether that online PDF is the document scheduled for the Nov. 4 unveiling.
The campaign agenda calls for easing costs faced by households and businesses, improving security coordination, raising education outcomes and skills, and shifting some authority to state governments. It links living and business expenses to infrastructure gaps, unreliable power and high transport costs. The document also points to Oyo State’s experience with security coordination and infrastructure as lessons for the agenda.
The planned unveiling follows consultations that the campaign says were intended to gather public input. EconoTimes previously covered Makinde’s South-East outreach and town-hall consultations.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) lists Jan. 16, 2027, as the date for Nigeria’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
