In a LinkedIn post on Oct. 29, Dhoka announced his appointment as chief executive of Jio BlackRock Broking Private Limited. Jio Financial Services had disclosed an October launch for the brokerage’s self-directed investing platform.
Dhoka announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post and said he was leaving Kotak Neo after four years. Exchange4Media identified his most recent role there as Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Product and Revenue.
Dhoka’s public profile lists earlier work at Paytm and Western Union, as well as education at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
Jio Financial Services’ Oct. 15 investor presentation says the platform launched in October with an introductory zero-brokerage offer covering stocks, exchange-traded funds and initial public offerings. The presentation gives no specific launch date or details on the offer’s duration, eligibility or charges afterward. It also places the broking business in an incubation phase and does not establish whether the platform is publicly available or how widely it has rolled out.
Jio Financial Services’ annual report describes its wealth and broking partnership with BlackRock as a 50:50 joint venture. The report says the partners aim to widen access to investment products in India by pairing BlackRock’s investment expertise with Jio’s digital customer network. Jio BlackRock Broking was incorporated on Jan. 20, 2025, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Jio BlackRock Investment Advisers Private Limited.
A Jio Financial Services filing says the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued the brokerage’s stockbroker and clearing-member registration on June 25, 2025. Jio Financial Services said it received notice of the registration on June 26.
Dhoka said the venture aims to make markets easier for Indians to understand and navigate, “so more Indians can participate with confidence.”
