Nvidia has disclosed that it holds a 9.3% stake in AI cloud infrastructure company Nebius, further strengthening its presence in the rapidly expanding artificial intelligence ecosystem. The disclosure follows Nvidia's previously announced $2 billion investment in the Amsterdam-based neocloud provider, highlighting the chipmaker's continued push to accelerate AI infrastructure worldwide.

According to a regulatory filing released Monday, Nvidia owns approximately 22.26 million Nebius shares, including shares tied to a warrant received as part of its investment agreement. The filing also noted that Nvidia is restricted from exercising the warrant until September 11. Following the disclosure, Nebius shares climbed about 3% in after-hours trading, reflecting positive investor sentiment.

Nebius, which was spun off from search engine company Yandex, specializes in AI-focused cloud computing and data center infrastructure. The company aims to build more than 5 gigawatts of computing capacity by the end of 2030 to meet growing global demand for artificial intelligence services. Earlier this year, Nebius also announced a strategic partnership with Nvidia, further expanding their collaboration in AI infrastructure development.

The investment underscores Nvidia's strategy of supporting companies that are helping scale AI computing capacity beyond traditional cloud providers. As demand for generative AI and high-performance computing continues to surge, Nvidia has increasingly invested in businesses that rely on its advanced graphics processing units (GPUs) and networking technologies.

Nebius is also one of Nvidia's customers, using the company's AI chips to power its cloud platform. Alongside CoreWeave, Nebius is considered part of the emerging "neocloud" sector—fast-growing cloud infrastructure providers focused on delivering specialized computing resources for AI workloads.

With strategic investments, technology partnerships, and expanding customer relationships, Nvidia continues to reinforce its leadership in the AI infrastructure market while supporting the next generation of cloud computing companies positioned to benefit from the global AI boom.
