OKX recorded the liquidation of an Ether (ETH) short valued at $4.82 million on Oct. 20, a single perpetual futures entry rather than a tally of forced trades across the exchange.

The exchange’s public liquidation data placed the event at 9:59 a.m. ET (13:59 UTC) and listed $2,412 as the liquidation price. The reported value belongs to the position in that entry; it does not describe every liquidation on OKX that day.

Perpetual futures contracts have no fixed expiration date. Traders short Ether to seek gains from a price decline. If margin falls below requirements, an exchange may reduce or close the position.

The OKX entry follows a separate Sunday event on Binance. EconoTimes previously reported a Binance Ether short liquidation involving one perpetual futures position valued at $11.81 million, with a recorded price of $2,423. Each figure describes an individual position on its respective exchange.
