A reported $8.6 million Bitcoin (BTC) short liquidation order appeared in OKX public data Monday, a single perpetual futures entry whose value is not an exchange-wide total.

The entry was recorded on Oct. 19 at 3:34 a.m. ET (07:34 UTC), with a reported price of $83,118. The amount applies to that order, not to every forced trade on OKX during the period.

A short trade is positioned to benefit if Bitcoin falls. OKX says a futures account can face compulsory liquidation when it fails to meet margin requirements, and the exchange can liquidate only part of a position. The reported order therefore does not establish that the trader’s entire short was closed.

The event follows a separate Binance Bitcoin short liquidation on Oct. 16. That earlier perpetual futures entry was valued at $6.16 million and carried a listed price of $82,845. It, too, described an individual entry rather than a broader liquidation tally.
