The Office for National Statistics released a quarterly view of UK business openings and closures for July through September 2026 on Oct. 29, with broad comparisons by industry and region.

The ONS classifies the figures as official statistics in development. They draw on the Inter-Departmental Business Register, which underpins the business-demography series.

The main release presents high-level industry and regional breakdowns. A separate quarterly dataset offers more detailed geographic results for the UK.

The ONS has not announced a date for the next release.
