The musical episode of “Once Upon A Time” Season 6 will be very interesting indeed. New details emerged about the closely-guarded episode, including news that Jennifer Morrison’s character, Emma Swan, will have a big solo.
Although Morrison didn’t confirm it, she did share her excitement about the episode with Entertainment Weekly, and said, “We’ll all so excited about it. It’s one of those things we’ve all thought about. Most of us have musical theater backgrounds or have had singing in our lives, or music in our lives, in some way. We’ve joked about it, thought about it. We’re all just listening to each other songs now trying to work out how the songs fit together and what the storyline is.”
TVLine also revealed that a sing-off between Snow White (Jennifer Goodwin), Prince Charming/David (Josh Dallas) against Evil Queen (Lana Parilla) may be in the works as well.
Matt Webb Mitovich replied to a fan question, “Aww, flattery will get you everywhere, Lisa. It will also get you this confirmation that Lana Parrilla will be among those belting a tune. After all, what would a musical Once episode be without a clash between the show’s original rivals — in the form of a grand (and royally entertaining) sing-off between the Evil Queen and the Charmings? Because I hear that is happening, folks.”
The musical episode sounds nice, but the future of the show is apparently in peril. Digital Spy said executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, including ABC's entertainment president Channing Dungey all agreed on a consensus that should a seventh season happen, a storyline reset is bound to happen.
"... Regardless of what we decide to do at the end of this season, I think they think they would put a little bit of a bow here, and then there is a next piece that comes after that, so they are trying to figure out what that is and how that works,” she told Deadline.
The musical episode of “Once Upon A Time” Season 6 is expected to hit screens in the spring.
