In the installment before “One Piece” chapter 913, manga fans saw a cliffhanger suggesting that Luffy and Zoro are going to fight Basil Hawkins. However, many believe that it might be a little too early for an epic battle to happen in the Wano arc.

For a brief recap, it can be recalled that Tama was devastated after learning that her close friend and Luffy’s brother, Portgas D. Ace, will no longer return to Wano. Most parts of the installment leading to “One Piece” chapter 913 featured flashback memories of Hitetsu that involve Ace and how villages in Wano were destroyed.
However, the highlight of the latest released chapter happened on its last few pages. While Luffy was bringing Tama to see a doctor, he saw a swordsman who turned out to be Zoro. Their mini-reunion was cut short when Basil Hawkins appeared but it also elevates the excitement for “One Piece” chapter 913.
The cliffhanger in the previous chapter suggested that Luffy and Zoro will be fighting Basil Hawkins in “One Piece” chapter 913. However, there are several theories that say there might not be an epic battle and all three characters could be forming an alliance in the end.
“One Piece” Chapter 913 Theories
One of the widely spread theories about the “One Piece” chapter 913 plot says Basil Hawkins will not pursue fighting Luffy and Zoro for several reasons. For one, Basil Hawkins is likely aware that he might not stand a chance against the two protagonists.
Even though Basil Hawkins has a couple of squadmates along with him, these are Luffy and Zoro — two of the best fighters in the series — he is going to face. So some believe that Basil Hawkins is only setting up a fake fight in “One Piece” chapter 913 to see what Luffy and Zoro are actually capable of in terms of fighting.
And if the cliffhanger would really not lead to a real battle, there is a great chance that an alliance between Luffy and Basil Hawkins will be forged in “One Piece” chapter 913. And their main goal is to remove Kaido from power.
After seeing how much chaos Kaido and his men have brought to the villages of Wano, this is an offer that Luffy would likely take. Luffy’s approval of defeating Kaido is very likely in “One Piece” chapter 913, especially after learning how important Amigasa Village was to his late brother, Ace.
“One Piece” Chapter 913 Release Date
Fans who have read the previous manga installment might know by now that “One Piece” chapter 913 is not arriving this week. Creators confirmed that the release will be delayed by a week, which means “One Piece” chapter 913 will be out on Aug. 6 and not July 30.
