Viz Media has been quiet about “One Punch Man” season 2 since the publishing giant acquired the rights for the much-beloved series. The San Diego Comic-Con 2018 hardly had news for “One Punch Man.” Even Viz Media's own official Twitter page has not posted any exciting announcements aside from “One Punch Man's” manga publishing volume 14 through Shonen Jump.

While new releases for the manga are good, fans are still waiting for news about “One Punch Man” season 2 especially because it has been a long time since season 1 even aired. But there is one thing that Viz Media is building up for “One Punch Man” fans who have been waiting for so long since the show's first season.

Viz Media originally announced the “One Punch Man” Serious School Festival Event back on July 4 to be their big launch for the future of the former webcomic-turned-publication franchise. Tickets were pre-sold for the event from July 5 to July 10 but serious fans who missed the opportunity to reserve tickets can still try to purchase tickets through the event's official webpage. “One Punch Man” Serious School Festival will be held at the Omiya Sonic City Hall on Aug. 12
"One Punch Man's" illustrator, Yusuke Murata, posted photos of what fans attending the festival can expect. Murata personally posted pictures of acrylic stands of the characters with keychains on his own personal Twitter account.

“One Punch Man” Serious School Festival will probably be the premiere event where Viz Media will be announcing the details for when “One Punch Man” season 2 will air. Fans should not be surprised if this event will finally bring an official teaser trailer and preview for “One Punch Man” season 2, giving the series the official grand welcome it deserves.
