Many are already waiting for “Ozark” season 4. Although there is no announcement yet with regards to its renewal, everyone is confident that it will be given permission for another run. Still, the official notice should come from Netflix.
Most likely, the reason why the giant streaming provider is not yet releasing any statement is because of the coronavirus pandemic. Most of the shows today have canceled or delayed filming as the risk of getting infected by the novel virus is very high. In fact, there are shows who have production staff who tested positive for COVID-19 already, so all production works have been temporarily halted.
Renewal update
Then again, despite the lack of update from Netflix, “Ozark” season 4 is likely to be back. The drama’s showrunner Chris Mundy already said before that after finishing their works for the third season, they have started planning for the next installment already.
Likewise, Jason Bateman, the show’s executive producer, and lead actor, also said that they are looking forward to being back on set and film “Ozark” season 4. He added that production works may not have started yet, but they have been discussing behind the scenes and planning their next story.
“We’re all operating under the hope it will happen,” Bateman told Collider. “It’s Netflix’s norm to wait for a show to premiere and collect the data for weeks two, three, and four and see if there’s an audience there to justify an additional season so, I guess we’re in that period right now.”
Lastly, “Ozark” season 4 will surely return on Netflix because there is no doubt that the drama has a lot of viewers worldwide. It has excellent viewership ratings, and in fact, Deadline reported that season 3 had surpassed the ratings of the first season, which means that more and more people are watching as the story progresses and more seasons are being produced.
Spoilers and release date
“Ozark” season 4 will pick up from where the third installment left off. This means that it will continue from the time when Wendy Byrde has taken over the operations of her husband’s Marty’s money laundering business. However, they are in bigger trouble as their dealings have gotten them involved with crooks.
“Ozark” season 4 is predicted to be back on Netflix in 2022.
