The claimant identified in court as PPT lost a High Court bid to stop Guardian News & Media and Independent Television News (ITN) from publishing investigative material, The Guardian reported Nov. 3.

PPT had sought a final injunction preventing the two organizations from publishing or broadcasting material from their investigations, according to earlier EconoTimes coverage of the case. That account said the proposed reports concerned serious allegations about PPT’s conduct over several years, which he broadly denies. It also said the court had not determined whether the allegations were true.

The case’s earlier Oct. 9 judgment addressed anonymity and open justice but did not decide the injunction request, the EconoTimes report said. It described the dispute as involving press freedom and the claimant’s safety concerns. The two-day trial ended Oct. 28.
