Online grocery sales are expected to reach $9.4 billion in sales by 2017i. When added to the $1.5 billion meal-kit subscription industryii, multifamily properties are seeing a real demand for temperature-controlled storage. As the nation’s leading package management provider, Parcel Pending is on the forefront of shipping and delivery trends.
“When it comes to package delivery, we are in the problem-solving business,” said Lori Torres, CEO and founder of Parcel Pending. “Our new refrigerated lockers are the result of listening to our customers and seeing the need to store temperature-sensitive goods. These revolutionary new lockers allow property managers to focus on the resident, and not spoiled food and melting packages.”
Parcel Pending’s new refrigerated lockers are cooled to a temperature of 35-44 degrees Fahrenheit, allowing food and beverage shipments to stay fresh longer than the standard dry ice or gel packs used by online retailers. Property management can now have confidence when residents’ perishable goods are delivered, knowing that they will be stored safely and securely in a Parcel Pending refrigerated locker.
In addition to refrigerated lockers, Parcel Pending will also unveil its outdoor lockers for properties that either do not have adequate indoor space, or do not have a communal area with 24/7 resident access. Featuring the same proprietary technology as the indoor lockers, Parcel Pending’s new outdoor lockers are made to withstand the environmental elements so residents can safely and securely retrieve their packages at their convenience, without having to worry about package damage.
