Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he plans to attend COP31’s Leaders’ Summit in Türkiye after an invitation from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Armenpress reported.
Armenpress said Pashinyan announced his plan at a Nov. 5 briefing. The leaders had met in New York on Sept. 23.
Erdoğan invited Pashinyan to the COP31 gathering for world leaders during that meeting, Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications said. The directorate said the discussions ranged from Armenia-Türkiye relations to broader regional and international matters. The directorate said Erdoğan expressed Türkiye’s support for the normalization process with Armenia in the areas of bilateral trade and transportation.
The U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) schedules COP31 in Antalya for Nov. 9-20. Its Leaders’ Summit is set for Nov. 11-12, during the wider conference.
