SAN JOSE, Calif., March 14, 2017 -- (Strata + Hadoop World 2017, Booth #1025) -- Paxata, the pioneer and leader in self-service data preparation tools, today announced the availability of top tier support for Microsoft Azure and released the industry’s first self-service, multi-cloud information platform to address the growing need for deployment flexibility. The Spring ’17 edition of the company’s award-winning Adaptive Information Platform includes significant innovations and advancements for the Microsoft Azure cloud and a new InterCloud Connect capability. Paxata’s latest release empowers business consumers to turn raw data into ready information instantly to gain fast time-to-insights.
Paxata’s Spring ’17 Adaptive Information Platform for Microsoft Azure provides a number of advancements including; support for running Paxata’s Adaptive Information Platform on HDInsight, a fully-managed cloud Apache™ Hadoop® offering that provides optimized open source analytic clusters for Apache Spark™ and other key technologies; support for connectivity and persistence in Microsoft Azure Blob Storage (WASB), where customers can read and write to Azure Blob Storage and use it as a persistent store for Paxata platform-specific storage; support for connectivity and persistence in Azure Data Lake Store (ADLS), so customers can read and write to the store and use it as a persistent store for Paxata platform-specific storage; and support for Apache Spark 2.0.
“PwC is a leader in audit innovation,” said Michael Flynn, Principal and Innovation Leader in PwC’s Advanced Risk and Compliance Analytics Solutions practice. “We’ve been using new technology like Paxata to enable our audit teams to rapidly scale to handle the most complex audits with a focus on data quality, governance and traceability. With the addition of Azure, this technology will give us even further scalability to handle the most demanding data."
Paxata’s new InterCloud Connect capability delivers the first multi-cloud information platform, which provides the seamless, secure, bidirectional interchange of data between Microsoft Azure, and other cloud and/or on-premises environments. Using Paxata, customers can start with running in Microsoft Azure, and then connect to any cloud environment or on-premise infrastructure to access all their data no matter where it resides.
"Digital Realty has been a pioneer in providing self-service information capabilities to our business consumers, and Paxata has been transformative in providing our teams the ability to create trustworthy information from all of our disparate data with an elegant, simple user experience,” said Paul Balas, VP of Information Delivery, Digital Realty. “We have been successfully using Paxata’s InterCloud Connect hybrid, multi-cloud deployment capabilities for many months now to connect our on-premise data sources with Paxata’s multi-tenant cloud offering in a seamless and secure manner.”
“Our strategic joint vision forged last year with Microsoft really drove our continued innovation to take advantage of the rapidly growing Azure cloud services, and we have seen significantly high demand from the market for supporting Azure in the last year,” said Prakash Nanduri, Co-Founder and CEO of Paxata. He added, “Multi-tenant, elastic cloud architecture was a fundamental principle of Paxata from the outset when we pioneered a new approach to information management, so we are thrilled to provide first-class support for multiple services in the Azure Big Data ecosystem. InterCloud Connect builds on our Azure support to capture the burgeoning hybrid, multi-cloud information platform opportunity.”
Joseph Sirosh, Corporate Vice President, of the Data Group at Microsoft Corp. commented, “The explosive growth of the Azure Big Data ecosystem has created a strong interest in our customer base for new approaches to information management. We are excited to see Paxata extend its Adaptive Information Platform to include key Azure services like HDInsight, Microsoft Azure Storage Blob and Microsoft Azure Data Lake Store. Azure customers can now leverage the full power of Azure’s Big Data offerings and turn all of their data into instant insights.”
