PayPal raised its 2026 non-GAAP earnings-per-share outlook after reporting second-quarter revenue and payment-volume growth alongside year-over-year declines in operating income, margin and diluted earnings per share.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, revenue rose 5% to $8.682 billion and total payment volume increased 10% to $486.448 billion, PayPal said when it released results July 28. Transaction-margin dollars advanced 1% to $3.9 billion. Non-GAAP operating income fell 8% to $1.507 billion, while non-GAAP operating margin narrowed to 17.4% from 19.8%. Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share slipped 1% to $1.38.
PayPal now projects about $5.38 in non-GAAP earnings per share for 2026. Its May outlook had allowed for a low-single-digit decrease or slightly positive growth. The company kept its forecast for a mid-single-digit decline in full-year GAAP earnings per share. For the third quarter, it expects low-single-digit declines in both GAAP and non-GAAP earnings per share.
President and CEO Enrique Lores said branded checkout had “further stabilized.” PayPal's next quarterly earnings call is scheduled for Oct. 27.
