Chester, PA, May 10, 2017 -- On Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 6:00pm, Chester Community Charter School (CCCS) will honor more than 70 baseball, basketball, softball, and cheerleading middle school student-athletes for their participation in the 2016 - 2017 season, at the 11th Annual Sports Banquet and Dinner, at the Clarion Hotel, in Essington, PA.

This banquet is a culmination of the season, and a celebration of the accomplishments and hard work each student-athlete applied, during the 2016 - 2017 school year. This year, the CCCS varsity boys basketball team placed second in the Penn Wood basketball tournament.
Studies show that participation in sports, at the middle school level, further enriches the lives of students, and positively impacts grades. According to the American Journal of Community Psychology, participation in extracurricular activities may be empowering for low-income youth by providing a setting for physical, mental and social development, outside the classroom.
WHO:
- CCCS middle school basketball, baseball, softball, and cheerleading coaches
- More than 70 CCCS baseball, basketball, softball, and cheerleading middle school student-athletes
- CCCS middle school principal and administrative staff
