Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian used a credentials ceremony for Türkiye’s new ambassador to urge closer cooperation among Muslim countries, saying it could help counter efforts to divide the region and create instability.
The Iranian presidency said Ahmet Aydin Dogan presented his credentials at an official ceremony. Pezeshkian characterized ties between Tehran and Ankara as close and said Iran approached Türkiye and neighboring countries with brotherhood and mutual respect.
He said the two governments should preserve cooperation and communication and further strengthen their bilateral ties, given what he described as sensitive regional conditions. Pezeshkian also accused Israel of seeking to divide Islamic countries.
Dogan said he would work to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and complete joint projects.
