A live CoinGecko listing put Pi (PI) at $0.08085 Friday, while Pi Network’s Node page showed the Protocol 28 Mainnet transition still underway on its scheduled Oct. 16 upgrade date.

CoinGecko’s listing showed the price at 11:49 a.m. EDT (15:49 UTC). Pi’s Node page said all Mainnet nodes must upgrade to v28 and continued to mark the protocol as under upgrade.

Pi Network set Oct. 16 as the planned Mainnet date after Testnet moved to Protocol 28 following the earlier Protocol 27 Mainnet upgrade. Node operators were required to update their software by Oct. 13 in preparation for the transition.

Pi Network says v28 is designed to help the network manage delays in transaction data, support coordinated smart-contract updates and make stored application data safer for developers to edit.

The project has scheduled its first online Pi Ecosystem Summit for Nov. 17-19. Pi Network says the event will include platform announcements, developer demonstrations, app showcases and information about a planned hackathon.
