Artificial intelligence agents now create 85% of everything produced on Pigment's business planning platform, the French software company's co-founder and co-chief executive said in an interview published on Oct. 21.

Pigment has raised $250 million in its latest funding round, Bloomberg Technology reported. Its software helps businesses forecast finances, prepare presentations and plan operations, putting it in competition with Microsoft's Excel and PowerPoint.

Speaking on Bloomberg Technology, the executive said Pigment brought Asian investors into the round to help expand into new regions. The company wants those investors to introduce potential customers and help it enter markets quickly.

She said Pigment would bring in more investors at a second closing, a further stage of the fundraising. She did not give a date for that step or identify the additional investors.

The executive described Nvidia's investment as support for Pigment's approach to replacing spreadsheet work with AI agents, software that performs tasks automatically. She said business planning had changed little over the past two decades.

“They are backing the future of planning with us,” she said of Nvidia. She said the way businesses handle planning would change dramatically over the next two years, presenting that as the company's expectation.

The United States accounts for 60% of Pigment's business, the executive said. She described rapid growth there and said she wanted European companies to adopt AI more quickly.

She cited L'Oreal as a new customer planning to use Pigment for salary planning covering 95,000 employees. She also named VINCI and Unilever among companies adopting the platform, without giving the size or timing of those deployments.

“There is a lot more we can do in Europe,” she said. She said large European companies were beginning to adopt the technology and expressed confidence in the region's direction.

Asked why businesses should choose Pigment over Microsoft tools, the executive said employees lose time reconciling and cleaning data, preparing models, testing scenarios and building presentations. AI agents can perform that work for them, she said.

She said people with advanced Excel skills were among Pigment's strongest supporters because they could automate tasks that previously took hours, days or weeks. Those were the company's claims about customer experience, and she gave no measured time savings.

“We're bringing that to literally every business user,” she said. She described broader access across companies as part of Pigment's goal, but gave no timetable for regional expansion or figures for revenue, customer growth or the company's valuation.
