Piramal Pharma Limited returned to quarterly profit as revenue rose 28% year over year, while the company raised its FY27 revenue growth outlook to 19%-20%.

The company reported consolidated net profit after tax of ₹5 crore for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with a ₹99 crore loss in the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue from operations reached ₹2,617 crore, up from ₹2,044 crore. The results are unaudited.

Its contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) business generated ₹1,424 crore in revenue, a 36% increase from ₹1,044 crore. Complex Hospital Generics revenue gained 32%, while Piramal Consumer Healthcare revenue rose 13%. Piramal Pharma said India and North America led CDMO performance, citing commercial demand, execution and cost controls.

Quarterly EBITDA rose 72% to ₹385 crore from ₹224 crore, and the EBITDA margin increased to 14.7% from 11%. For the first half of FY27, revenue grew 23% to ₹4,887 crore and EBITDA increased 72% to ₹669 crore. The company’s net loss after exceptional items narrowed to ₹64 crore from ₹181 crore in the year-earlier half.

Piramal Pharma attributed the first-half margin expansion to higher capacity utilization, operating leverage, disciplined execution and cost optimization. It raised its full-year revenue growth outlook after citing first-half performance, demand, its order book and customer engagement. The company also said it expected meaningfully higher profitability, without giving a numerical target.

During the first half, Piramal Pharma reported 22 customer additions, hosted 110 customer audits and completed 12 regulatory inspections. Chairperson Nandini Piramal said, “With H2 typically stronger than H1, we are well positioned to deliver a strong full-year performance.”

The company’s Q2 and H1 results call is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 12:30 a.m. to 1:15 a.m. ET (04:30-05:15 UTC).
