PointClickCare named former Appen chief executive Armughan Ahmad to its board Thursday, Oct. 15, while longtime director Rob Eberle concluded more than 11 years of service at the Toronto-based health technology company.

PointClickCare said Ahmad has more than 25 years of enterprise technology leadership experience. His previous roles include Appen, KPMG and Dell Technologies, and he also serves on the boards of Flexential and Trillium Health Partners, the company said.

Appen’s 2022 annual report says Ahmad became CEO on Jan. 9, 2023. Appen announced to the Australian Securities Exchange on Feb. 5, 2024, that he had stepped down.

PointClickCare said Ahmad’s experience would support its AI-first healthcare strategy. Ahmad said he was “honored to join the board” and planned to work with the leadership team to advance the company’s AI strategy.

The board change comes as PointClickCare develops its AI products for care providers. The company announced limited availability for Vox Advantage on Aug. 12. The voice-enabled feature is built into its electronic health record platform. PointClickCare said broader commercial availability was planned for October, with full results from independent customer time studies expected this fall.
