Secret service chief Tomasz Siemoniak said Thursday that a 22-year-old Georgian man had been detained on suspicion of involvement in Kuzovkov’s June killing. A court ordered the man held before trial for three months.

The first person detained was a 36-year-old man; Polish authorities said he was using a Georgian passport.

Reuters reported that Kuzovkov was shot five times in Biala Podlaska, eastern Poland; he also used the name Semyon Skrepetsky. Reuters said his work criticized Russian authorities and that he had protested in Berlin shortly before the shooting.
