Rozwój Plus urged opposition parties in Poland to agree on a candidate and build support for a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s government, proposing a transitional cabinet before elections the group wants held in 2027.

The group’s resolution proposed that Marek Jurek, a former speaker of the Sejm, try to form the cabinet. It said Rozwój Plus was open to another candidate with broad support.

Rozwój Plus said the proposed government should work to restore stability and the rule of law before elections it is targeting for 2027.

Poland’s Constitution requires a constructive no-confidence motion to name a candidate for prime minister and be submitted by at least 46 deputies. The motion needs support from a majority of the statutory number of deputies to pass. The Sejm, Poland’s lower house, would consider it.

The resolution calls on opposition forces to agree on a candidate and build the parliamentary backing needed to file the motion.
