Polymarket’s international exchange spent an hour in cancel-only mode Thursday while the company investigated reports of drained wallets. Polymarket said it would make affected users whole after one of its third-party providers was compromised.

Polymarket’s status history records that cancel-only mode and paused relayer actions began at 2:05 p.m. EDT (18:05 UTC) Oct. 29. The company marked the incident resolved at 3:05 p.m. EDT (19:05 UTC) and said trading was expected to resume at about 3 p.m. ET.

Polymarket said it had resolved the problem affecting Polymarket.com and referred the matter to law enforcement. The notice did not identify the provider, explain how it was compromised or name a specific agency. The company gave no timetable for compensation.

Blockchain analytics firm Bubblemaps estimated that about 700 users appeared to be affected and put losses at roughly $2.7 million. Polymarket has not confirmed either figure, and its status notice did not include its own count or loss estimate.
