Crypto investor Anthony Pompliano says Anthropic employees sought information from his startup, Silvia, putting an alleged dispute over product know-how alongside the AI firm's rollout of a personal-finance beta for Claude.
Anthropic announced the beta Nov. 5 and is making it available in stages to U.S. customers with Pro, Max or Ultra subscriptions. Plaid gives Claude read-only access to bank activity covering up to two years, but the tool cannot transfer money or make investments.
Pompliano used an X post about an hour after the announcement to say Anthropic employees had asked Silvia engineers about its technology and future plans in contacts dating to April. He also alleged that an Anthropic employee told Silvia days before the launch that the company was preparing a competing product. Pompliano did not attach messages or screenshots to the post.
Silvia lets customers link financial accounts and ask questions about household finances, a use that intersects with Claude's beta. The company reports that more than 20,000 investors use its platform and that it has over $60 billion in linked assets.
