Posco E&C, formerly known as Posco Engineering and Construction, and LG Electronics Inc. said this week that they will work together to allow home appliance customization for apartment remodeling. The two companies agreed to co-develop customized home appliances for this project.
Based on the details shared, Posco E&C and LG Electronics will set up a digital construction management platform, which will be used to install built-in appliances like air conditioners. As part of the partnership, the engineering and construction company will manufacture customized products for apartment remodeling. In collaboration with LG Electronics, they will design a system for air conditioners.
As per The Korea Economic Daily, Posco E&C and LG Electronics signed the partnership agreement earlier this week at the Posco headquarters located in Incheon. The main goal for the team-up is to broaden the former’s presence in the related market.
The company believes that its tie-up with LG Electronics will achieve this goal since it is already known worldwide as a world-class brand for home appliances and air conditioners.
An official from Posco E&C stated in a press release, “We will accelerate the development of customized remodeling technology so that we can preemptively respond to the customer’s eye level, such as the new construction method for ceiling system air conditioners currently under development.”
The companies will assign 16 teams to work on the tasks involved in the partnership, such as the development of new products, improvement of profitability, search for other potential businesses, and development of new products and technologies. The groups will also be tasked to solve any issues which may arise later.
Hankyung News reported that Posco E&C shared that Team A, which was already launched last year, will also participate in the project and will have an important role in the product development process. This team is composed of key talents in the fields of construction, R&D, and design.
