The release date of “Power” season 6 remains a secret among fans. But the cast and crew have been generous in providing updates about its ongoing production.
It appears, though, that the filming of “Power” season 6 would take a few more months to finish. A couple of weeks ago, showrunner Courtney Kemp confirmed they were conducting the table read for the script of episode 8.
The table read for “Power” season 6 episode 8 happened a couple of weeks ago. So it is highly possible that the cast and crew already filmed some of the biggest turn of events coming up this year. It can be recalled that Kemp said they consider the eighth episode of each season as the real finale.
She confirmed this when asked why Kanan’s (50 Cent) death happened in season 5 episode 8. “Episode eight is always a season finale for us, and then we give you two more episodes. … We always do kind of crazy stuff in eight in order to have the audience go, well, what are they going to do now? That’s the question we want them asking at the end of eight,” the “Power” season 6 showrunner previously told Deadline.
Fans must also remember that Kemp said “no one is safe” shortly after Kanan died in an ambush. It is possible that the series creator is foreshadowing another major death in “Power” season 6.
Speaking of deaths, many fans were confused with how things ended in season 5. When Angela (Lela Loren) and Ghost (Omari Hardwick) met to clear things up and, essentially, break up they did not know that Tommy (Joseph Sikora) was also in the building to assassinate Ghost. Though Angela caught the bullet Kemp assured fans she is alive — at least, at the beginning of “Power” season 6.
Even though the network Starz has yet to announce the release date of “Power” season 6, there are no reports about a production or schedule delay. This means the show will most likely return in its usual annual schedule, sometime in June or July.
