A claim attributed to @solana links light-speed travel to Solana network limits, while a prior validator model focused on how geography could shape delay across hypothetical layouts.

A prior validator model used locations of 124 observed validators across six macroregions to test 6,250 hypothetical stake distributions. The simulation did not introduce additional validator sites.

The model estimated delay using fiber paths 1.5 times great-circle distance and signal speeds of roughly two-thirds of light speed. Those inputs produced simulated scenarios, not evidence that signal propagation currently constrains Solana’s live network.
