Euro 2020 is coming up soon, and many football fans will plan to bet on the tournament. Professional soccer predictions will be on hand to help people to pick winning wagers.
Defending champions Portugal will be out to protect the crown they won four years ago. But various other teams hope to lift the trophy at the end of the competition at Wembley.
Spain and Germany are expected to be among the teams to beat. Each of them have won the European Championship three times, which is a record jointly held by the two nations. Germany have also been beaten in the final on a further three occasions. Despite a poor performance at the last World Cup, Joachim Low's side can indeed not be written off at Euro 2020.
Of course, the full lineup for the tournament is yet to be decided. Play-off matches are set to be held in March. After those, all 24 qualified teams will be known. But the outright odds already published by sports bookies and here is how the draw looks:
Euro 2020 Group A
Topped by Italy, Group A's predictions might focus on Wales. Ryan Giggs is in charge of a side that reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016 under ex-coach Chris Coleman. Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is among the players Wales will be hoping to fire them far again. Turkey and Switzerland are also in Group A, which looks to be among the toughest sections.
Euro 2020 Group B
Qualification for the next stage from this section looks to be there for the taking with Belgium, the only major nation included. Denmark, surprise winners back in 1992, will compete alongside their Scandinavian neighbors Finland. Russia, who produced some fine performances at their home World Cup two years ago, will be of interest to those making professional soccer predictions for Euro 2020. Belgium will be strong favorites to come out on top in Group B.
Euro 2020 Group C
One of the play-off winners from the March matches will be heading for Group C, which is headlined by the Netherlands. Having impressed at the inaugural Nations League, they could be a team to watch here. There will also be a focus predictions on the battle between Austria and Ukraine, who are likely to be jostling for the second spot in the second.
Euro 2020 Group D
England and Croatia face off in Group D - that match will be a repeat of the World Cup semi-final. Luka Modric and his Croatia side came out on top on that occasion, needing extra-time to get through to the final which they lost to France. The Czech Republic is set to add to the high standard of this section of the draw. Group D will also feature a play-off winner.
Euro 2020 Group E
Spain, who won the European Championship in both 2008 and 2012, is the team to watch in Group E. Luis Enrique is back in charge after being temporarily replaced by Robert Moreno. It is unclear how the change in the dugout is going to affect their chances. Those making professional soccer predictions might expect Poland to follow Spain into the next round. Fired by the goals of Robert Lewandowski, they could be a threat. Sweden and another play-off winner might be making up the numbers in this section.
Euro 2020 Group F
Last but not least, Group F features World Cup winners France. They are among the favorites. But Portugal and Germany are also included in what is probably the strongest group of all. Holders Portugal still relies on Cristiano Ronaldo, but the emergence of Joao Felix gives them a new attacking edge. Germany, meanwhile, is in a rebuilding stage, and the predictions will be keeping an eye on their development ahead of the next World Cup.
