At 4:03 p.m. ET (20:03 UTC) on Oct. 30, Pyth’s Total Value Secured (TVS) measured $2.928 billion, while total value locked (TVL) stood at zero.

TVS gauges the amount exposed to losses if an oracle fails. It does not count assets deposited with Pyth.

The figures describe different measures: TVS reflects potential losses tied to an oracle failure, while TVL is a separate reading. The $0 TVL figure was recorded at the same time as the TVS reading.

Those numbers alone do not show that $2.928 billion flowed out of the network.
