NEW YORK, March 01, 2018 -- RANE (Risk Assistance Network + Exchange) today announced the launch of Enhanced Risk News and Market Monitoring, a business intelligence service that enables risk and compliance professionals stay more informed and take a proactive approach to risk mitigation and preparation.
Today’s 24-hour news cycle makes staying on top of emerging risks challenging and time-consuming. In addition, risk management information is fragmented across subject matter, industries, and geographies. Conventional monitoring solutions are designed for public relations and marketing applications, not business intelligence, and require considerable time and effort to sift through results.
“Risk and compliance professionals face a daunting challenge in staying ahead of the news cycle on risks that could impact their firm,” said Steve Roycroft, CEO of RANE. “Information comes at them from multiple sources and channels, and if not harnessed in the right way, can limit their ability to stay in front of emerging issues.”
RANE’s Enhanced Risk News and Market Monitoring service employs a two-stage curation process to help separate the signals from the noise:
- RANE aggregates content from top information sources, including major news outlets, trade publications, legal alerts, industry research, and regulatory notices, and combines that with intelligence from RANE’s global network of risk experts and service providers.
- Content feeds and search filters can be customized by industries, topics, companies, people, or keywords.
- The most important items are then hand-picked and summarized by RANE subject matter experts who have deep knowledge of the risk management space.
- Results are accessible via daily email, mobile app, and desktop with tools that enable items to be easily read, stored, and shared.
The Enhanced Risk News and Market Monitoring service builds off RANE’s highly successful RiskBook email that curates and summarizes the top 10 to 12 risk items each day. Enhanced Monitoring has been in pilot for the last six months with several RANE clients and is now generally available to the marketplace.
“RANE was able to help cut through the noise and hone in on the issues we really care about,” commented Kelly Montanaro, Senior Compliance Officer at GE Energy Financial Services. “With RANE extracting and identifying the most important items on an ongoing basis, I feel more informed and better prepared.”
"Risk and compliance professionals are looking for more effective ways to manage information, and the sheer volume, velocity, and complexity of today’s risk landscape requires they rethink their approach to accessing market intelligence,” added Roycroft. “RANE’s Enhanced Risk News and Market Monitoring allows our clients to take control of the information flow and make more informed decisions.”
