RWA.xyz’s Oct. 17 snapshot showed that transferable real-world assets accounted for less than one-tenth of the XRP Ledger’s $5.046 billion total, while stablecoins sat outside that measure.
The tracker assigned $496.6 million to the distributed category and $4.549 billion to represented assets. Those figures make up the $5.046 billion total. RWA.xyz listed $1.068 billion in stablecoin market capitalization separately, outside that calculation.
RWA.xyz groups assets by whether they can leave an issuer’s platform and pass between wallets. For assets that stay there, the ledger is mainly used to maintain records and reconcile them. The $5.046 billion figure therefore should not be read as value that can all circulate between wallets.
RWA.xyz listed JMWH, an energy token offered by Justoken, as the largest represented asset, at $2.229 billion, or about 49% of the category. RWA.xyz describes each JMWH unit as equivalent to one megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy.
A Brazilian fund-share project offers another example of the ledger’s recordkeeping role. CSD BR and Ripple announced Sept. 29 that an initial phase would put BTG Pactual investment-fund shares on the XRP Ledger as tokens while mirroring them. The joint announcement said CSD BR would retain its official ownership records, while blockchain records would give users a separate way to review and audit that information. It described the phase as an evaluation of the technology under live operating conditions.
Ripple said native issuance and trading among authorized participants could follow if the mirroring phase is validated. The announcement gave no timetable for that next step.
