RWS has completed its acquisition of Acolad parent Acogroup, expanding the U.K.-based company’s language-services business as its Transform segment reports a mid-single-digit organic, constant-currency revenue decline for fiscal 2026.
RWS announced the closing Nov. 2 after finishing social consultations and securing regulatory approvals. Its August filing assigned Acogroup an enterprise value of £22.4 million (€26 million) and put total consideration at £40.2 million (€46.6 million). The total included payment for about £17.8 million (€20.6 million) of cash at completion. RWS gave no revised transaction figures in its closing announcement.
Acolad is joining Transform, which recorded the revenue decline in the financial year ended Sept. 30. In an Oct. 27 trading statement, RWS put unaudited organic, constant-currency revenue growth for the group at about 3% for the same year.
Acolad generated £182 million (€211 million) in revenue and £13 million (€15 million) in adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in the year ended Dec. 31, 2025, according to RWS’s August filing.
That filing said Acolad operated in 22 countries across Europe and North America and employed about 1,200 people. About half its revenue came from regulated industries. Its services include localization, interpreting, transcription and data work.
RWS said its Cultural Intelligence Layer, Language Weaver Pro and Trados will be available to Acolad customers. The company has not quantified integration costs or expected savings in its closing announcement. RWS is scheduled to report full-year results Dec. 15.
