He said a stronger dollar and higher short-term rates pressured valuations, while lower AI prices, machine-driven AI token consumption, Anthropic revenue growth and cloud contracts pointed to continued demand.

Real Vision founder and CEO Raoul Pal called the liquidity setback temporary, pointing to continued AI use and cloud spending as evidence that demand persisted.

Pal linked the pullback to an oil shock that slowed global liquidity, strengthened the dollar and lifted short-term rates. He pointed to $2.49 trillion in cloud-provider contracts already signed and Anthropic's revenue growth as indicators of continuing demand. Lower AI prices and greater machine-driven AI token consumption were two other indicators he cited.
